I designed this shoe with the talented team at HOKA to be a formidable competitor featuring a carbon fiber plate to help propel you forward and accelerate your toe-off. With a trademark early meta-rocker for a smooth roll through the gait cycle and a wide base for a stable, soft and extremely responsive ride. Complete with a lightweight upper and embroidered rear for a fine-tuned lockdown, the Carbon X is built through the lens of speed over long distances.
This shoe was launched at 'Project Carbon X' by HOKA, a 100k race with some of the world's top ultra-marathoners. Jim Walmsley broke Bruce Fordyce's 50 mile world record at the event, which had been standing since 1983 - over 35 years!
This shoe has created a lot of buzz with some great reviews... and even a few awards!
